Hello, my name is Jericho, and I’m simply a guy who is obsessed with films and music. I’m not a critic in the traditional sense, meaning I have absolutely no credentials in this area beyond my passion for writing and love of the arts. I have a B.A. in English, and have written various short stories as well as a novella that I will hopefully be putting out soon. I started this blog/site simply as an outlet for my opinions, as well as to hopefully create an online community of fellow music and movie obsessives. The standard rating system (1 out of 4 stars for movies, 1 out of 10 for music), may seem somewhat irrelevant since the reviews are essentially opinion-based, but it’s just my way of expressing how I feel about the subject at the current time. I welcome comments, opinions, disagreements, really anything that gets people talking about this stuff. Feel free to message me with bands or movies to check out, or even suggestions about what I should get into. Thanks and enjoy!
-FILM PICK OF THE WEEK-
BLOW-UP
It’s debatable whether or not Michelangelo Antonioni’s 1966 ode to mod decadence is truly a masterpiece, but one thing cannot be denied; it greatly affected the cinematic culture and paved the way for liberated filmmakers to craft deeply personal movies during the 1970’s. Antonioni’s first English-language feature was more accessible than the Italian filmmakers previous three films, L’Aventura (1960), La Notte (1961), and Eclipse (1962), but for American audiences, it ranked as something new and exciting.
